To be honest, the only thing I knew about Bacolod City before this trip was, well, chicken inasal and "The Masskara Festival". But then, there's this thing called "internet", so I "googled" it, did a little research then started making our itinerary 2 days before our travel. This trip was a pleasant surprise!
Bacolod City, is the capital province of Negros Occidental. It is also notable for its famous Masskara Festival. They also call this place, "the city of smiles", for being a relatively "friendly" city. I complained to my sister every time I meet someone "not smiling". "Bat di nka smile yun? dba city of smiles dpat?" she said maybe they were just shy. Ang arte ko, Haha! :p
The Capitol Park and Lagoon is a provincial park located right in the heart of Bacolod. One of the landmarks of the park is the carabao (water buffalo).
Hindi kami nglibot kasi mainit OKAY? Haha! eto lang nakayanan na picture. -__-
The park was near our hotel so this was our first item on our itinerary. We left immediately after taking few pictures (like literally, haha). I was like, "uhm, ano toh dito? Hahaha!
According to my research; jogging, aerobics, school dance rehearsals, promenading; arnis and martial arts practice and feeding the tilapias of the lagoon were the popular activities at the park. Hmm, hindi ko nasaksihan. Chos. Well I thought, maybe this place looks better at night.
Look how bored I was. Haha
The main landmark in the park is the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol building, apart from that I thought "there's no beauty to desire in this place", Haha or maybe I was just really hungry that time. Horrible things happen when i'm hungry!!! charut.
SM city mall's not far from the park, one jeepney ride only (PHP 8.00). If in doubt, ask the locals!
Lunch @ Deco's, they're famous for their La Paz Batchoy but we didn't order it! How odd. -__-
We had dessert at Cafe Bobs, we wanted to try all their local shops as much as possible.
their best sellers. |
We had their best seller ice cream and my favorite forever and ever, cheesecake! This was a day before my birthday (October 8th), I asked for a candle so I could make a wish and blow my candle out (in advance). Ahehe.
Conyo Problem: Kuya and Ate were so mabait, they looked everywhere just to make hanap and make hiram a lighter kasi they didn't have lighter. They looked to the ends of the earth (chos lang) just to find me a candle and lighter. I loved it! Haha
Ahhh look at me! Happy Bee! haha |
Yey! happy birthday to me!
